CAN ZX1 HELP THE FUEL ECONOMY AND REDUCE EXHAUST EMISSIONS?
"Yes it can, ZX1 Extralube Micro Oil Metal Treatment is a Friction Eliminator that makes engines work more efficiently this leads to less carbon exhaust emissions and so reduces your carbon footprint.
It is designed to form an extremely hard wearing substrate film which has no perceivable measurable thickness and will not build on itself to compromise design tolerances, because ZX1 is totally non particulate it can be used universally in all systems, it does not mix with the engine oil, but simply uses it as a carrier to find the wearing metal surfaces.
It is this technology that reduces friction in the engine thus the oil does not have to work so hard which ultimately results in reduced carbon exhaust emissions. Many of our customers use Extralube ZX1 Micro Oil Metal Treatment purely for this benefit.
In 1992 when our company was formed the prime function of Extralube ZX1 Micro Oil Metal Treatment was to provide a friction eliminator as an effective lubricating medium to cope with the demands of engineering in the 20th Century and improve component life.
It soon became apparent that this reduced friction in engines and transmissions increased the mpg, some quite considerably; this endorsement is echoed by our many customers who are now buying ZX1 Micro Oil Metal Treatment for this reason alone.
HOW DO I USE ZX1 MICRO OIL IN MY MANUAL TRANSMISSION?
For manual transmissions use a 5% ratio of ZX1Micro oil to the volume of gearbox oil.
WILL ZX1 MICRO OIL REDUCE THE NOISE IN MY HYDRAULICS VALVES & TAPPETS?
ZX1 Micro Oil will certainly quieten noisy hydraulic valves and tappets in most cases, in fact some garages use it for that specific purpose especially one who comes to mind specialising in Audi and VW vehicles which tend to suffer this problem.
If there is a leak in the system, which allows the oil to leak out of the valves when the engine is shut down, it will be difficult to eliminate the initial metal-to-metal hammering sound until the system is full of oil again cushioning the valves.
HOW DO I KEEP THE TEMPERATURE DOWN IN MY HYDRAULIC SYSTEM?
ZX1 Micro Oil does not contain any solids so ideal for using in hydraulic systems to reduce running temperature and improve efficiency by reducing internal friction thereby improving component life.
To use ZX1 Micro Oil in hydraulics we advise a 1% ratio of ZX1 to Hydraulic oil, if possible bypass the hydraulic oil tank and introduce the ZX1 directly into the working part of the system which will ensure that the ZX1 gets to the working parts quicker.
HOW MUCH ZX1 MICRO OIL DO I NEED TO USE IN MY 2 STROKE?
We suggest using a 5% ratio of ZX1Micro Oil to the 2 stroke oil, for your outboards add 50 ml of ZX1 Micro Oil to 950ml of 2 stroke oil and then run it at normal the normal oil to petrol ratio.
CAN I USE ZX1 MICRO OIL TO LUBRICATE MY REMOTE CONTROLLED CARS AND MODELS?
C76 Micro Lube is ideal for your Remote controlled cars, Miniature models and intricate parts. It will protect the metal, reduce drag and improving performance. If it is not possible to lubricate with C76 in between races and you want to treat the bearings and leave them for 80 minutes racing we suggest you initially heat treat the bearings in neat ZX1 Micro Oil metal treatment 60 degrees C, the molecules of ZX1 will impregnate and bond to the surfaces to provide long term protection.
HOW CAN I USE ZX1 MICRO OIL TO TREAT MY BIKE CHAINS AND THE CHAINS ON MY TOOLS?
The best way to treat chains is to apply hot ZX1Micro Oil Metal Treatment (ZX1 bonds at 60ºC) to a clean chain, let it penetrate and bond before using the chain.
WILL C60 ZX1 EXTRALUBE HELP WITH MY RUSTY CHAINS?
Yes, We suggest you spray the chain with C60 ZX1 Extralube, this will help loosen any rusty parts and help free jammed mechanisms, it will also keep the chain in good shape and reduce drag; some of our customers have remarked that it dramatically reduces chain stretch.
HOW WOULD YOU RECOMMEND I USE ZX1 MICRO OIL IN MY AUTOMATIC?
If you vehicle is post 1970 then go ahead and treat, your vehicle has a modern transmission therefore you can treat it with a 2.5% ratio of ZX1Micro Oil to transmission fluid, if the transmission fluid capacity is very large and 2.5% works out to be more than 175 ml, use only 175 ml which will be sufficient to treat the internal metal components. If your vehicle is dated before 1970 please check if it has any metal to metal plates requiring friction.
WHERE CAN ZX1 MICRO OIL BE USED IN MY CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEM?
You can use ZX1 virtually anywhere but the central heating pump is a good application, the amount to use is difficult to calculate, if you can apply it direct into the pump then +/- 20 ml should be enough to threat the internals, however, if it is applied via a header tank and circulated around the system them more will need to be added because the ZX1 will impregnate other parts of the system as it circulates.
HOW WILL ZX1 MICRO OIL BENEFIT MY SYNCHROMESH SYSTEM?
We understand your concern for the synchromesh because of the way in which the rings work, it has been found that ZX1 Micro Oil benefits the gearbox and does not compromise the efficiency of the synchromesh.
If you an experienced racing driver used to many different gearboxes you might notice a few milliseconds delay in the gear change but in the past 10 years that has only been commented on by one very experienced racer who said he would rather protect his gearboxes with ZX1 Micro Oil as the very slight delay did not compromise his performance on the track and since using ZX1 Micro Oil has never suffered a transmission failure whereas previously it was one of his major mechanical failures in endurance races.
CAN I ADD ZX1 MICRO OIL TO MY FUEL AS A TREATMENT?
How do I use ZX1 in my fuel tank. To enhance upper cylinder lubrication and help reduce harmful emissions we suggest the following: initial treatment add 10ml per 10 litres of fuel. Add ZX1 then fill up with fuel. Make subsequent treatments at 1000 mile intervals using 5ml per 10 litres of fuel, this is only a suggestion you might feel that your engine would benefit from treatment at shorter intervals, of course any excess will benefit the exhaust system by smoothing the internal surfaces helping exhaust gases to dissipate quicker.
IS ZX1 MICRO OIL SAFE TO USE IN MY WET CLUTCH?
ZX1 Micro Oil is purely a metal treatment and will not affect the composite fibre of the clutch plate, go ahead and treat your motorbike.
WILL USING ZX1 MICRO OIL METAL TREATMENT PRODUCTS AFFECT MY WARRANTY?
As for the warranty, many manufacturers advise against using oil additives because they change the characteristics of the oil recommended by them for that particular engine, HOWEVER ZX1 MICRO OIL METAL TREATMENT IS NOT AN OIL ADDITIVE, it does not change the oil it only uses it as a carrier to get to the wearing surfaces, we see no reason why your warranty should be affected.
HOW MUCH ZX1 MICRO OIL TREATMENT DO I NEED TO USE IN MY POWER STEERING?
If you put approximately 20 ml of EXTRALUBE ZX1 in your steering fluid it will help the power steering pump.
CAN I TREAT MY NEW CAR WITH ZX1 MICRO OIL?
If your new car has an early oil change +/- 500 miles, wait until then to treat with ZX1Micro Oil, if it has a long term period before changing the oil e.g. 6000 miles you can treat from new as the engine will have been bench run in, however, in our opinion driving 200 to 300 miles on the road before treating gives the engine a chance to work under normal driving loads.
WILL AN ENGINE FLUSH REMOVE THE ZX1 MICRO OIL?
Once ZX1 Micro Oil has impregnated and bonded into the metal it has to be worn away, an engine flush will not remove it.
